My ONE word is GRACE. I need grace given to me by Jesus. I also need to give grace in every area of my life: marriage, parenting, business, health and fitness, relationships. We all deserve grace. Instead of holding myself to a level of perfection in these areas, I will hold myself to a level of grace. Being a perfectionist and attempting to control every single little thing in life tarnishes the very act of being able to be present and appreciate life.
- each in his place, by right, not grace, shall rule his heritage
- —Rudyard Kipling
Enter in my second word which is actually going to be my action and that is: POW. Are you laughing right now? I could see how a chuckle could come from POW. Why POW. It’s really quite simple. I cannot move mountains. That is for the Lord to do. What I CAN do is POW (chip away) my goals and vision. Remember that my word is GRACE. So POW allows me to have more grace. God moves the mountains and I will POW to show Him that I am following, listening, and allowing HIM to guide me.
You don’t have to be a Christ believer to pick your word or to have an action associated with your word. Instead of resolutions, why not toss the list and stop overwhelming yourself. Choose ONE and allow that to guide you through the year.
